Privacy Policy
Wowoo Ltd (“Wowoo”, “we”, “us”, “our”) is the data controller for personal data processed through the Apps. This Policy explains what we collect, why, how long we keep it and the rights you have. By using an App you agree to this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
1. Who we are
- Controller
- WOWOO LTD, a company registered in England and Wales
- Registered office
- Unit 501 Leroy House, 434-436 Essex Road, London, England, N1 3QP

- support@wowooltd.com
2. Information we process
2.1 Photos, videos and face data you submit
The Apps only access your camera or photo library when you grant permission and only for the image you choose. Depending on the App, we process:
- Face photos (Star by Face, Glare, AI Cartoon Generator) — to detect facial landmarks (position, orientation and topology of facial features) so that we can produce a look‑alike match, an animated video or a cartoon rendering.
- Ultrasound images (NubX) — to estimate fetal sex using the “nub theory” method and to enhance the scan image. Ultrasound images may reveal health information and are treated as sensitive data; we process them only with your explicit in‑app consent.
Because mobile devices have limited processing power, images are uploaded over an encrypted connection to our cloud servers for processing. Uploaded images, derived face data and generated results are cached only for the duration of processing and are automatically deleted within 24 hours. We do not build face templates, we do not use face data to identify or authenticate individuals, we do not use your images to train AI models, and we do not sell or share face data or ultrasound images with third parties except the infrastructure providers that run our processing under contract (see section 4).
Please do not upload images that contain other people without their permission or that disclose information you do not wish to share.
2.2 Information collected automatically
When you use an App we and our service providers automatically collect technical and usage data:
- Device model, operating system version, language, region and time zone;
- App version, crash and performance diagnostics;
- IP address (used for security, fraud prevention and coarse location);
- Identifiers such as the Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA) — only if you allow tracking through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt — and an anonymous app‑install identifier;
- In‑app events (screens viewed, features used, subscription started or cancelled).
2.3 Purchases
Subscriptions and one‑time purchases are handled by Apple through In‑App Purchase. We receive receipt data (product, price tier, purchase and expiry dates, transaction identifiers). We never receive your card number or billing address.
2.4 Support messages
If you contact us we keep your e‑mail address and message for as long as needed to resolve your request.
3. Why we process your data and on what legal basis
| Purpose | Data | Legal basis (UK/EU GDPR) |
|---|---|---|
| Deliver the core feature you requested (look‑alike, animation, cartoon, gender estimate) | Photos, ultrasound images, face data | Consent (Art. 6(1)(a) and, for ultrasound/biometric‑type data, Art. 9(2)(a)) |
| Operate, secure and debug the Apps | Device and diagnostic data, IP address | Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)) |
| Manage subscriptions and entitlements | Receipt data | Contract (Art. 6(1)(b)) |
| Measure and improve the Apps, attribute installs | Usage events, identifiers | Legitimate interests; consent where required (ATT) |
| Answer support requests | Contact details, message | Contract / legitimate interests |
| Comply with law and enforce our terms | Any of the above | Legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c)) / legitimate interests |
4. Service providers we share data with
We use a small number of processors that act on our instructions and under data‑processing agreements:
- Cloud hosting and AI processing — to run the image‑processing pipeline (images deleted within 24 hours).
- Apple Inc. — App Store distribution, In‑App Purchase, crash reports (if you opted in with Apple).
- Adapty — subscription and paywall management (receipt data, anonymous install ID).
- Google Firebase — analytics and crash reporting. You can limit this via your device's advertising settings. See Google's privacy policy.
- Adjust — install attribution (device identifiers and install events) where enabled.
We may also disclose data when required by law, to protect the rights and safety of users or the public, or as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets (in which case this Policy continues to apply).
We do not sell personal data and we do not share face data or ultrasound images for advertising.
5. International transfers
Our providers may process data outside the United Kingdom and the European Economic Area, including in the United States. Where this happens we rely on the UK International Data Transfer Agreement, EU Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision, together with technical measures such as encryption in transit and at rest.
6. Retention
- Uploaded images, face data and generated results: deleted automatically within 24 hours.
- Analytics and diagnostic data: up to 14 months, then aggregated or deleted.
- Purchase records: for the life of the subscription and as required for tax and accounting law (up to 6 years).
- Support correspondence: up to 2 years after the case is closed.
7. Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you have the right to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your personal data, to restrict or object to processing, and to withdraw consent at any time (which does not affect processing already carried out). You can exercise these rights by e‑mailing support@wowooltd.com. We respond within one month.
You can also stop all processing by deleting the App from your device. Because images are deleted within 24 hours, there is normally nothing further to erase.
If you are in the UK you may complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk). If you are in the EEA you may complain to your local supervisory authority. California residents have the rights described in the CCPA/CPRA; we do not “sell” or “share” personal information as defined there.
8. Children
The Apps are not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age for consent in your country) and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it promptly.
9. Security
We use TLS encryption in transit, encryption at rest, access controls limited to staff who need access, and automated deletion of images. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we act quickly on any incident and will notify you and regulators where the law requires.
10. Health disclaimer (NubX)
NubX provides an estimate based on a visual heuristic and is intended for entertainment and informational purposes only. It is not a medical device, does not provide medical advice or diagnosis and should not be relied on for any medical or family‑planning decision.
11. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date above shows the current version. Material changes will be highlighted in the App or on this page before they take effect.
